The Vancouver Winter Olympics has come to an end.

The time went by surprisingly fast since the opening ceremony,
the competitions, and then the closing ceremony.
I feel like enjoying myself in the dream world just for
a little while longer.

The skeleton races took place on Feb. 18 and 19.
We competed in four runs in two days.
I finished in 20th out of 28.

I went into the Olympic aiming for a gold medal.
Unfortunately, it was beyond my ability.
During the Olympics, I had trouble staying motivated.
But all those messages of encouragement on this blog kept me going or my goal until the very end!

The result didn't come out good but this Olympics I competed
along with everyone of you will be what I treasure for a  lifetime.

Thank you everyone!!

I Qualified For Vancouver! VComments(13)

January 25th, I returned to Japan from my overseas tour On the same day,
I qualified for the Vancouver Olympic Winter Games.

Being 45 years old, I'm thrilled to be in front of  the lights at the Winter Olympics again.

My goal is to earn a gold medal.  But that's not all.
I also want to show my professional attitude and to not to give up until the end.
I hope, that if anything else, I can set an example for those who follow me
and encourage them to follow their dreams.

I appreciate your support.

The Last World Cup VComments(3)

January 23rd.
The last World Cup race of the year was held in Innsbruck,  Austria.

 I finished 24th.

There is a saying "all's well that ends well."
Does that mean "all's bad that ends badly?"
That can't be!
Things don't go well all the time, nor do they go badly all the time either.
The important thing is to have the will to work harder and make an effort to achieve your goals.
Great joy should await you after you've endured great suffering.
You just have to keep your spirits high and keep the heat on.

The 7th World Cup Race VComments(10)

January 15th

The 7th world cup race was held in St. Moritz, Switzerland
and I finished 14th.

St. Moritz is the the birthplace of skeleton, so I'm especially
honored to race in a World Cup there.

14th... it's  an acceptable result but, with a little more effort,
I could have made it into the top 10.

I feel disappointed.

I think I need to make more effort.

The 6th World Cup RaceVComments(3)

January 8th,
The 6th World Cup race.

I went into it expecting to get off on a good note after the start of the new year.
Yet I finished 17th.

Those young athletes from other countries were quite tough to beat.
Still, I will  not lose my fighting spirit going into the next competition.

Happy New Year!!VComments(0)

Happy new year!

It is not easy realizing your dreams.
But I will never give them up and I'll keep challenging myself to achieve them.
I believe by doing that, I can inspire dreams, courage, and hopes to many people everywhere.
I appreciate everyone's continued encouragement.
Let us all achieve our dreams together.

December 18th,

The 5th World Cup competition in Altenberg, Germany.
I was there for 7 days and it got colder with each passing day.
On the day of the race,  the temperature went down to  -16℃.
Even after warming up I was freezing my toes off.

I placed 18th in the race.

I already had the disadvantage of age going against me,
but it was the cold that really was the biggest handicap
against a 44 year old dad like me.

Tough Loads Of LaundryVComments(2)

100_1083.jpg

December 11th, The 4th World Cup race was held in Unterberg, Germany.
I finished 23rd.
I'm not satisfied with the result and feel ashamed.

When I have a race, my laundry piles up.
I have to wash my clothes in the bathroom sink since there is no laundromat where competitions are held.

It's tough when I'm not in the mood.
I still haven't lost my fighting spirit, though.

I will try to do better next time.

11thVComments(8)

December 4th,

The 3rd World Cup race was held in Cesana, Italy.
I finished 11th and was only 0.06 seconds outside of breaking into the top ten.

It was a shame, but to be honest, I'm happy with the result being that it was better than my first two races.

I'm targeting a top ten finish for my next try.

On November 22th, I returned to Japan from the tour to the USA and Canada.

Tomorrow, on 27th, I'm setting out for another tour, this time to Europe.
My stay in Japan refreshed me pretty well.

In the short time I've been here, I think desperately every day
what to do to restore confidence in my performance.
but I have no real answer for that yet.

I'll just give it my best shot and see what happens.
I still haven't lost my spirit.

I'll always strive for 100%.
