Leaving Home as Celebrity and some bad news to share
Comments(14)
Good news first:
I had a limo picked me up from home, and had a TV interviewed me leaving home. I left home with my dad, mom was working she met us at the airport...
It was great to be a celebrity!
The bad news are as below, as it is copied from my website www.tugbakarademir.org as explained by my dad. SO I AM NOT THE FLAG BEARER DURING OPENING CEREMONIES....
On Sunday Feb the 7th we received a call from the Gen. Secretary of Turkish NOC informing us that Tugba will be the flag bearer during the Opening Ceremonies. After confirming if we can announce it we shared our happiness and pride with you through this website and her blog. Today, Wednesday Feb the 10th, half an hour before Tugba's leaving home for airport and while she was getting interviewed with some other TVs on the spot, she received several calls from some Canadian and American TVs asking why her name is removed from the flag bearers list. With that confusion and shock we tried to reach the Gen. Secretary and we got a call an hour later from the Athletic Affairs GM confirming the change. We are dismayed more for hearing it from international TVs instead of hearing from our officials first. We have nothing more to comment on this matter and we sincerely apologize for raising your hopes unnecessarily.

An evening for the Olympians!
Comments(13)
The evening was a great success. Anabelle Langlois, Cody Hay and I have been very fortunate to have the support of everyone around us. We have worked very hard to get to this point but we definitely did not do it alone. We want to thank our parents, team of coaches and all the other people who came last night to show their support once again.
We started the evening with dinner at the Village inn.( which was yummy) and ended it with a cake made especially for us. The cake was really cool. Here's a picture.
Bye for now

Hi everyone,
The Olympics are a week away and I am getting really excited to go. I have been training really well and at this point it is all about mentally keeping it together. I did a one miss long and a clean short today and that's about normal for me so I know I am very well prepared. I know I have a lot of support from everyone who writes to me on this blog and I want to thank everyone because it really means a lot to have your encouraging words. Also everyone in Barrie has been absolutely wonderful and so encouraging. They are even throwing us a good luck evening on friday at a local restaurant.
I will be flying out to Vancouver on the 10th. I am really looking forward to walking at the opening ceremonies on the 12th. It was such a highlight for me last time. I will definitely keep updating this blog as much as I can. I want to share with you my experiences there because we athletes get to experience such unique moments. I will have my camera with me at all times so look forward to many pics.
That's all for now

Not just a skater :)

Thanks for all the supportive messages, they really mean a lot to me. I am at home in Barrie now, back on the ice training for my Olympic moment. Check out the picture of me commentating at the European Championships in Estonia. Turkish Radio Television always comes to these big championships and broadcasts the whole event. As soon as I am done competing I head up to the press centre and commentate on the rest of the ladies. It`s nice to be able to share some technical knowledge with the Turkish viewers as they are not exposed to skating as often as their Canadian counterparts.
Cheers
